The 7th International Conference on Computer Vision, Image and Deep Learning (CVIDL 2026) Successfully Concluded in Changsha

From May 22nd to 24th, 2026, the 7th International Conference on Computer Vision, Image and Deep Learning (CVIDL 2026) was successfully held in Changsha, Hunan Province. This year's conference was organized by Central South University and the Hunan Provincial Electronics Society, with the School of Electronic Information at Central South University serving as the organizer. The event received technical support from IEEE | IEEE CIS, media support from ScienceNet, and full-process technical service assurance from AiScholar.

Innovatively adopting a hybrid online-offline model, the conference featured one main venue and two thematic sub-venues. It hosted a total of 9 expert frontier keynote speeches, 19 presentations by young scholars, and 16 poster sessions, constructing a comprehensive academic ecosystem encompassing plenary speeches, invited talks, and interactive exchanges. The high-frequency Intellectual collision and in-depth dialogues attracted specialist from over 30 universities and scientific research institutions, including Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Cardiff University and Leeds University (UK), Hunan University, Sichuan University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, National University of Defense Technology, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing University of Technology, and Central China Normal University, fostering multidimensional academic communication.Opening Ceremony

On the morning of May 23rd, the opening ceremony of the 7th International Conference on Computer Vision, Image and Deep Learning (CVIDL 2026) commenced. Professor He Xuhui, Vice President of Central South University, and Mr. Jiang Dianbo, Director of the Department of Science and Technology Innovation at the Hunan Provincial Association for Science and Technology, delivered opening remarks. They extended a warm welcome to the attending experts and scholars and wished the conference a complete success. The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Deng Xiaoheng, Dean of the School of Electronic Information at Central South University.

The plenary session was chaired by Professor Zhang Hao from the School of Electronic Information at Central South University. Five experts—Researcher Wang Xingjun from Tsinghua University, Professor Peng Yuping from Peking University, Professor Huang Hua from Beijing Normal University, Researcher Yuan Xiaoru from Peking University, and Professor Liu Min from Hunan University—delivered keynote speeches. With profound academic expertise, innovative perspectives, and vivid explanations, they stimulated extensive interaction among the audience, continuously elevating the Hot Pot of academic discussions.

Two parallel sessions were held as sub-forums of CVIDL 2026: (1) Computer Vision and Image Processing and (2) Deep Learning Theory and Applications. Invited speeches were delivered by Professor Wang Jinpeng (Central South University), Professor Lao Yizhen (Hunan University), Professor Zhou Guoxiong (Central South University of Forestry and Technology), and Associate Professor Zhu Lei (Hunan Agricultural University).

During the conference, the committee selected and awarded 3 Best Paper Awards, 3 Best Young Scholar Presentation Awards, and 3 Best Poster Awards.
